Dr. Benjamin Kuhar

Dr. Benjamin Kuhar is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist specializing in refractive surgery as well as cataract surgery. In addition to being a LASIK surgeon, Dr. Kuhar also is certified in PRK, SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction), and ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) surgery, which he provides to our nation’s military members. As the Associate Program Director of the Ophthalmology Residency Program at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University, Dr. Kuhar has established himself as a young leader in the field of Ophthalmology. Serving these roles, he plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of military ophthalmologists through education and mentorship.

Dr. Kuhar takes pride in combining the latest surgical techniques with a compassionate approach to ensure that each patient receives the highest level of care and achieves their best possible vision. In addition to excellent surgical outcomes, Dr. Kuhar ensures each individual has a safe and enjoyable experience under his care.

Outside of work, Dr. Kuhar enjoys staying active through running, cycling, and playing tennis or pickleball. He and his wife are originally from the New England area and are avid fans of all Boston sports.
